Using the Time Tracking Clock In/Clock Out Function

Note: The Clock In/Clock Out buttons are available on the LINQ EP Sign On page if Time Tracking is implemented by your organization.

Use the Clock In/Clock Out buttons on the LINQ EP Sign On Page to clock in and clock out of a job without logging into LINQ EP. You can use the Time Tracking link on the Payroll page to view your time clock records.

You must contact your manager to request a change to or removal of a time clock record.

Your district may implement the Auto Clock In feature to allow employees that work the same job to clock in automatically. Your district can also require employees that belong to specified employee categories to select their work location as part of the Auto Clock In and/or standard Clock In processes.

Clock In/Clock Out Rules

The following rules apply when using the Clock In/Clock Out function on the LINQ EP Sign On page.

  1. You cannot clock in to multiple jobs at the same time. If you clock in to another job before clocking out of the previous job:
    • The program assigns a Clock Out time to the previous job automatically and clocks you in to the new job. A message displays letting you know the previous clock in/clock out record was modified.
    • If allowed by your organization, a clock-out time assigned automatically to the previous job may match the clock-in time for the selected job record. For example, the Job 1 end time and Job 2 start time are both set to 8:30 am when you clock in to Job 1 at 8:00 am and clock in to Job 2 at 8:30 am without checking out of Job 1.
    • If not allowed by your organization, a one-minute time difference exists between the clock-out time assigned automatically to the previous job and the clock-in time assigned to the selected job record. For example, if the Job 1 end time is 8:30 am, then the Job 2 start time is 8:31 am.
  2. The List of Jobs displays the current clocked-in job in Red text.
