Creating an Approval Group
Before creating an approval group, verify the following information:

The type of request associated with the approval group

The location associated with the approval group, if applicable
Approval group codes are user-defined; therefore, your organization may want to establish a naming convention for the approval group codes.
You must enter all fields on the Add Approval Groups page to create an approval group.
To create an approval group:
- Click the Approval Groups link on the Admin Home page.
- In the Approval Groups grid, click the
link. The Add Approval Groups page appears.
- Click the Request Type Drop-down List button
to select the type of request associated with this approval group.
- In the Approval Group Code field, type the user-defined code that will identify this approval group. You can enter up to 8 characters in length. You can use special characters (e.g., -, !, %, &, etc.).
- In the Description field, type a description of this approval group. You can enter up to 50 characters in length. You can use special characters (e.g., -, ., %, &, etc.).
- Click the Location Drop-down List button
to select the location associated with this approval group. Select All if the same approval group is responsible for approving requests submitted by any location in organization.
- Click to select the Active check box to activate this approval group. An inactive approval group is not available for selection when creating an approval chain.
- Click the
button to save the approval group record. The Approval Group Listing page displays with the approval group added to the grid.
