Use the User Defined Value to create a tag that contains common text that is included on multiple contracts, for example, a legal statement. Rich Text Editor tools allow the user to customize the look of the text included in a tag e.g., font and font size, color, and other attributes.
You can also cut and paste text from another word processing program.
Use the Tag list to insert tags into the text, if applicable. This list displays the default tags provided by LINQ.
When a User Defined Value Tag is modified, the change is applied simultaneously to all contracts that contain the User Defined Value tag.
Follow these steps to add a User Defined Value Tag. Optionally, use the Rich Text Editor tools to format the text value.
On the Contracts page, click the Tags tab. The Tags grid appears.
Click the
button. The Add/Edit Tag form
appears.
Enter the following fields.

Click to select the Active check box to assign an Active status to the tag. Leave the Active check box blank to assign an Inactive status to the tag. |

Type a user-defined name for the User Defined Value Tag. The maximum number of characters is 100. |

Type a user-defined description of this User Defined Value Tag. The maximum number of characters is 4000. |
Click the User Defined Value tab.
In the text box:
Type the text associated with this User Defined Value tag.
Click the Tag
Drop-down Arrow to select a tag to include
in the text value. Click here to view the Column
Tags Cross-reference Table for Standard Tags.
Click the button to insert
the tag into the text box. The tag is positioned after the last character
typed in the box.
Highlight the tag and press Ctrl+X
to copy and remove it. Position the cursor in the body where that
tag should appear. Press Ctrl+V
to paste the tag at the designated position.
Cut and paste text from another word processing application.
Remember to check your spelling.
Optionally, use the Rich Text Editor tools to format the text.
When finished, click
the button.
The Contracts page appears
with the User Defined Value record displayed in the Tags
grid.
Follow these steps to change a User Defined Value Tag.
On the Contracts page, click the Tags tab. The Tags grid appears.
Optionally, click
the Filter icon
to display the Filter boxes. Use the Filter
boxes to search for the User Defined Value Tag to be changed.
In the Tags
grid, click the Edit icon
that corresponds to the
User Defined Value Tag to be changed. The Add/Edit
Tag page appears with the General
tab selected.
If applicable, change to the Tag Name and/or Tag Description.
Click the User Defined Value tab.
Change or replace the text and/or tags displayed in the text box, if applicable. You may cut and paste the text from another word processing document.
Remember to check your spelling.
Optionally, use the Rich Text Editor tools to format the text.
Click the button. The Contracts
page appears with the modified User Defined Value record displayed
in the Tags grid.
